Gather the women to change our world!

Home Page

Our Story:  It began one cold day in February in Dallas, Texas.  Diane Jung a Reiki Master and organizer of the Wise Women in Ontario, Canada was caring for her friend, Dorothy. Dorothy was recovering from total knee replacement surgery, so there was much time for conversations.  They started with a discussion of the book that Diane had brought to give to her friend.  The book was "Urgent Message from Mother, Gather the Women to save the world" by Jean Shinoda Bolen.  So it began.

Our vision:  Diane and Dorothy have long been facilitators of women's circles.  But this book ignited their desire to share the gift that comes from women gathering to support each other to bring out the best within.  We had also become tired of the way our planet has been unconsciouly ravished and its many inhabitants living in fear.  We know from personal experience and observing our sisters that women are capable of making positive change and healing a world lost in fear and fundamentalism.  The power of women together is an untapped resource needed right now to save humanity and restore peace to the planet.

We are committed to bring into realization this power to transform one woman at a time, one circle at a time until we are all joined in changing the world. We are facilitating workshops and creating more circles.  We are connected with the Gather the Women Global Movement whose web site is
www.gatherthewomen.org. The following information comes from that site.

“…what the world needs now is an infusion of the kind of wisdom women have and the form of the circle itself is an embodiment of that wisdom.”

—Jean Shinoda Bolen, from
The Millionth Circle

Circles are the heart of Gather the Women. Circles have the power to transform the world—woman by woman, circle by circle! A circle is a gathering in the form of actually sitting in a circle and following general guidelines that facilitate authentic conversation. The circle form is nonhierarchical—everyone’s input holds equal importance. It fosters listening to and learning from every participant. In circle, women support each other and discover themselves through conversation that meaningfully explores of each topic that arises.
